How to Calculate Your Number of Full-Time Equivalents (FTE)

    1. First look at all part-time employees your organization has and add up the average total number of part-time hours worked per week. This includes even “very part-time” employees like childcare workers and Sunday musicians.
    2. Divide the total number by 40. If that answer renders a partial amount, round up.
    3. Add that number to the number of full-time employees your organization has.
    4. That total is your FTE.
